about

Amy Evans is an Australian architect, educator, and designer based in Berlin. Her practice spans architecture, art, research, and design, and includes collaborations with studios, artists, and other creative partners. She has taught extensively at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the University of Melbourne.

In 2020, she was awarded the Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarship for The City Shaped, a body of research investigating how cities are formed through regulatory, spatial, and socio-political forces. The project resulted in a series of research-led drawings and installations, including Plattenbau, Tracing Berlin, Hospital, Vague Terrain, Urban Platforms, Other Spaces, and Testing Ground.

Her current research builds on an interest in urban morphology to examine the direct impacts of policy decisions on the built environment. Through the use of data-driven analysis, advisory frameworks, and predictive design modelling, her work explores how architects might reclaim agency within policy-making processes and contribute to the shaping of future urban conditions.
